This is called combined test because PTU CET Entrance Test makes the candidate eligible for seeking admission in the undergraduate colleges affiliated to Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jalandhar, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar as well as Punjabi University, Patiala, at the same time. In addition to this,

is also made on the basis of PTU CET test. Punjab Technical University awards the relevant degree(s) after successful completion of these courses.
PTU CET Eligibility Criteria
There are two PTU CET Eligibility Criteria. One Punjab Technical University CET criteria is applicable for 85% students while another is for the rest. The PTU Combined Entrance Test eligibility criteria for the 85% seats category is the the applicant must a resident of Punjab State as approved the Government of Punjab, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (PP II Branch) letter no. 1/3/95-3PP II/9619 dated 6th June 1996 and letter no. 1/3/95-3PP II / 81 dated 1st Jan 1999. Additionally, the candidate must have passed the 10+2 examination of any board as a regular candidate from any recognized Punjab institution. Candidates are required to furnish a certificate from the Principal / Head of Institution last attended, to this effect, in the prescribed performa.
PTU CET Exam Pattern Structure
Punjab CET Exam is held around May or June every year.
The exam duration is 3 hours.
Punjab CET exam syllabus
is consisted of three parts. Part I and II have Physics and Mathematics and they are compulsory. Part III offers choices from Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, and Computer science. Each part offers 60 MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) carrying 1 mark each.
Punjabi candidates need to appear for the Punjabi Language Proficiency Test.
For admission in the B. Arch course, candidates are needed to clear a special aptitude test having 30 MCQs, 1 mark each, to be answered in 30 minutes.
