Zakir Rose Garden is located in Sector 16 in the city beautiful Chandiarh. The Rose Garden in Chandigarh is the largest Rose Garden in Asia. The Zakir Rose garden was formed in the year 1967 under the professional guidance from M.S. Randhawa. Mr Randhawa was Chandigarh's first Chief Commissioner. The Rose Garden was named after Zakir Hussain the third President of India.
The Zakir Rose Garden Chandigarh is huge and is spread over 30 acres of land. The Rose Garden boasts of more than 50,000 rose-bushes of 1600 different species of roses. The highlighting point of Zakir Rose Garden is that it has a collection hundreds of natural varities of roses and hundreds of varieties of hybrid roses which are developed through tissue culture.
