The city of Kapurthala was namd after a semi legendary Rajput from Jaisalmer Rana Kapur. Kapurthala was established in the early 11th century when Rana Kapur arrived here.

Kapurthala city in Punjab is located between Jalandhar and Amritsar in the North Central Punjab. Distance of Kapurthala is around 205 Km from Chandigarh and around 390 Km from Delhi.

How to Reach Kapurthala

Kapurthala can be reached by bus and trains. Nearest airport is Amritsar (80Km). Kapurthala is well connected by road from all the parts of Punjab and neighboring states.

From Delhi GT Karnal National Highway will lead you to Chandigarh via Ambala.

Route to Kapurthala from Chandigarh – NH64 to Rajpura, NH1 to Kartarpur via Ludhiana, Phagwara and Jalandhar.

Best time to visit Kapurthala is between October and March.
