Chandigarh Botanical Garden and one more botanical garden near the Sukhna lake- Sector -1 is the gardens which add pride to the Chandigarh city in Punjab.

Chandigarh Botanical Garden, Punjab is the pride of the city, Chandigarh. One should not miss to visit the beautiful and elegant sight of this botanical garden in the city. The entrance itself is so beautiful and inviting.

This huge garden is situated in the Punjab University with full of different varieties of evergreen plants, exotic plants. Along with the plants the extinct species are also arranged in a systematic unique style. Cacti plants are so well grown and maintained beautifully. The elegant Lotus plants blossomed with pink Lotus flowers look wonderful and make you feel like you are in a paradise.

Medicinal Plants and herbs are being grown in the garden. Several species of medicinal trees and medicinal shrubs, herbs & climbers have already been planted in this section. Tree species include Amla, Neem, Sandalwood, Camphor, Rudraksha, Putranjeeva and herbs of medicinal values like Akarkara, Ghritkumari, Ashwagandha, Tulsi, Mehndi, Brahmi and many more are planted in the Medicinal Plants Garden and developed.

Bamboos and canes have been planted along two drains which pass through the Botanical Garden. Some fern species are also seen in shade. The other botanical garden is located between the Rock Garden and Sukhna Lake. Here, you can find beautiful Lily Pools. This garden is full of rare plants one would never have seen elsewhere in the country.
