Hola mohalla Anandpur Sahib
Hola mohalla is one of the famous festivals of Punjab. It falls on the first lunar day of chet month of Nanakshahi calender which is clashed with the month of March according to English calendar. It is 3 day celebration in the form of a grand festival of Sikhism. This festival was initiated by Guru Gobind Singh Ji with the purpose to strengthen the physical and muscular power of his Sikh community. Thus mock battles, Gatka etc are arranged along with Kirtans and other religious speeches of Sikhism.
On the last day of this grand festival, a huge procession (nagar Kirtan) passes from the town, initiating from and terminating to Takht Keshgarh Sahib. This procession is led by Panj pyara.
